Description

French foil with bare wood grip and figure eight guard. Solingen (Germany) made blade with "Solingen" markings on the blade and "4" mark indicating blade length. Also marked is a small crowned head in profile near the forte. Unknown if grip was previously wrapped, though wrapping was likely.

French foil. Steel, iron, wood. Overall length: 40 in. Blade 32.75 in. long, .375 in. wide at forte. Guard 3.625 in. tall, 2.25 in. wide, .125 in. thick. Grip 5.625 in. long, 2.125 in. circumference at middle. Pommel 1.375 in. long, .875 in. diameter at widest. Weight 265 grams.
